Black-and-white photography (Silberlicht)

Silberlicht Silver Light, 75 projections on photo paper, 1953 to 1998

In 2006 the Städtische Museum Abteiberg first exhibited 75 black and white photo-graphs and photograms.
They are one-offs in a format of 24 cm x 30 cm respectively 30 cm x 40 cm.

It follows that this part of the works of Heinz Mack is not very well known to this day. .
The term Silberlicht as title for this series of photos is to be understood literally: chemically produced documentation of light on photo paper.

In the black and white photographs and photograms the artistic fascination with the medium light becomes obvious, just as in the colour photographs, which were also first exhibited in 2006.
